It’s about one thing:

Language that First Adopters can spread without you being present.

Yet, most people building new paradigms have never built that language.

The idea stays brilliant. They leave the room. Nothing travels.

The First Adopters become the Last Adopters.

And how do most people go about it?

They treat this as a pushing problem.

More content. More branding. More visibility.

You see it in comment sections — someone selling their work into someone else’s post that has nothing to do with it. No interest in engaging, just the idea pushed forward one more time.

It reads as desperation.

And it produces exactly nothing — because the people who could have become First Adopters scroll past, sensing they are being talked at, not named.

Pushing doesn’t create Word of Mouth.

That requires something most creators have never been told to build.

That something is called WOM Language. The language their First Adopters need to carry the paradigm forward without them.

The Velocity Problem

Think of every person who felt your work shift something in them. But then, couldn’t explain what they’d felt to someone else.

That gap is not their failure. It’s a missing language transmission.

First Adopters can only carry what they can say. And if the language doesn’t transmit, they carry nothing. No matter how deeply it impacts them.

Your paradigm stays contained. It reaches the people you personally touch, but stops there.

It never develops its own velocity.

But when WOM Language exists, three things change:

1. You stop trying to make people admire your thinking. You start giving them language that upgrades theirs. They repeat it because it makes them sharper, more self-assured. Not because they just agree with you.

2. You stop confusing people liking the idea with people being able to carry it. Someone can nod, share the post, even tell others about you and still have no usable words for the paradigm. WOM Language changes what you listen for.

3. You start to see whether your paradigm is standing on its own or leaning on your charisma. Some ideas seem powerful because the person behind them is powerful in the room. When that person leaves, the idea collapses.

And there’s one more thing...

And this is the one most people are missing right now in 2026.

People are no longer discovering ideas only by scrolling social media. They are asking AI.

“Who should I read?”
“Who owns this territory?”
“Who has a real take on this?”

And when AI tries to answer such questions, it looks for coherence. A paradigm with roots — consistent language, clear POV, a body of thought that points back to one person.

I know this because I stumbled by accident.

A client told me AI was returning my name for searches around ideas I had barely promoted. So I got curious, and I searched more.

And my name appeared above people who had been building their profiles for years.

The difference isn’t because I’m investing in ‘branding’.

It’s because I’ve been building my own paradigm in a coherent way.

WOM Language is what creates the coherence. The consistent language. The POV with roots. The body of work that points back to one person.

Without it, your ideas get absorbed by AI. It erases your name.

With it, it enters as a signature. Yours.

But to build your own WOM Language, you need to understand what it actually is.

How WOM Language Is Forged

WOM Language is language forged from the gap between the Old Paradigm and the New Paradigm.

Not a slogan. Not a positioning statement. Not a brand name invented before the thinking is solid.

To build it, two complete pictures must exist first:

1. The world your First Adopters are currently living inside — what they believe, what they chase, what they blame themselves for.

2. And the world your paradigm opens — what becomes possible, what new questions emerge, what they stop needing to fix.

Between those two worlds sits the First Contact Rupture. The wording that separates the old way of thinking from the new one. That is where WOM Language is forged.

But reaching that Rupture requires moving through a non-negotiable sequence:

The POV names the Lie the reader has been living inside, the Enemy keeping that Lie in place, and the Alternative — the non-obvious perspective that makes the New Paradigm obvious.

The Old vs New Paradigms give the POV its full architecture. The First Contact Rupture emerges from the tension between them. And WOM Language is what gets forged from that tension.

Tight enough to say, sharp enough to remember, useful enough that a First Adopter repeats it to feel smarter.

Yet, most people fail this sequence. And the reason why is worth understanding.

Three Wrong Moves

What derails the sequence is never laziness. It’s three things that look like the right move. That’s what makes them dangerous.

1/ Branding First

Finding the name, the phrase, the clever hook before the paradigm is fully formed. It rewards the branding industry. It looks like progress. It dies the minute someone asks what’s the essence beneath it. Hint: there’s none.

2/ Grammatical Correctness

Making the language precise, accurate and grammatically correct. Apple’s “Think Different” (not “Think Differently”) upset every English teacher. Too bad... because it became a phrase a generation repeated without being asked. The language that travels is emotionally true, not grammatically correct.

3/ Optimisation for Admiration

Wanting people to be impressed by your thinking rather than giving language to upgrade their thinking. Admiration keeps the creator at the centre. WOM Language gives the First Adopter a new power. They repeat it because it makes them sharper, not because they are applauding you.

The signal you have been trained to listen for is approval. The signal that actually matters is repeatability.

And repeatability has one test.

Adoption Without Transmission

There is one question that tells you whether WOM Language exists.

Can your most engaged First Adopter explain your paradigm to someone new (without you there) in a way that makes that person want to know more?

If yes, it exists. If not, what you have is belief without transmission.

Because adoption without transmission looks like several things.

• It looks like engagement — people liking and sharing.

• It looks like enthusiasm — people telling others about you.

• It looks like understanding — people nodding and saying they get it.

None of those are WOM Language. They are all forms of self-validation. And self-validation stays in the same place.

WOM Language leaves the room. It travels in conversations you are not part of. It recruits people you have never met. It makes your First Adopter feel smarter for saying it than for simply agreeing with it.

Otherwise…

Your First Adopter becomes the Last Adopter.

The Ceiling

At some point, the pattern becomes hard to ignore.

You keep showing up. You keep creating. You keep having the conversations. And the paradigm stays exactly as large as your calendar allows.

Nothing compounds.

Every new person requires the same effort as the first. The work never starts carrying itself.

And language that travels has to be forged from the right sequence. Not invented, not branded, not polished into slogans.

“Remember that you are a Black Swan” —Nassim Taleb

You probably have heard what a Black Swan is.

Those one-off events that come completely from the unknown.

You can’t predict it. It hits from outside. And it reorganises everything around you without asking permission.

The 2008 crisis. The pandemic. With a clear before and after — not just in the world, but in how you understood the world.

A Rare Dot lives in the same unknown territory.

Genuine uncertainty. Beyond the edge of what your current thinking can map. But it works in the opposite direction.

A Black Swan arrives as an external rupture. Crisis you didn’t choose. Couldn’t predict. Cannot reverse.

A Rare Dot arrives from inside. From the specific, irreversible texture of your lived experience.

It doesn’t break your model from the outside. It breaks open from within. Not as a collapse, but as an expansion.

Something your existing frame has no room for is trying to come through.

Same uncertainty. Completely different relationship to the person standing inside it.

And Before You Ask… “So What?”

A Rare Dot isn’t just having an interesting idea.

It’s a signal pointing toward something your current paradigm can’t fit. And the implications are far larger than you may think at first.

I don’t mean just from my own personal experience. I see this from the people I work with.

The first is how you read your own past.

The experiences that didn’t integrate. The glimpses that left something behind but never found a category.

What felt like disconnected strangeness reveals itself as signal that was always pointing somewhere specific. Your history becomes a resource rather than a mystery.

The second is what you do with ideas you can’t yet defend.

Instead of discarding them for something more legible, you start treating their persistence as data.

The thing that keeps returning after you’ve set it aside is not a distraction. It’s the most important signal in your work right now.

And the third — which is maybe the one that surprises people most — is what becomes possible that was not possible before.

The thinking when you stop translating yourself into borrowed language. The work that was always trying to come through finally has somewhere to land. And the right people recognise it the moment they hear you.

So. What is a Rare Dot, really?

Let’s get into that...

The Gödelian Life

Here’s a different way to think about it.

We can probably both agree — there are things that feel true in your life that you cannot prove. At least not from inside your current thinking.

Gödel named this exact phenomenon. In 1931.

He showed that within any system complex enough to do basic arithmetic, there will always exist true statements that cannot be proven from within the system itself.

That there will always be true things it cannot reach from within.

Gödel was talking about mathematics.

But the same thing happens in your life.

A Rare Dot is, pretty much, the Gödelian statement of life.

True. Real. Undeniable in its resonance. But unprovable — unintegrable — from within your current logic.

Your thinking isn’t failing when it can’t absorb the signal. It’s hitting its structural ceiling.

Not pre-verbal. Pre-paradigm.

But if the signal is real... why do so many people keep missing it?

The Reflex

The reason most people miss their Rare Dots is Justification Anxiety.

The moment the signal arrives — unfamiliar, resonant, impossible to fit — something fires before conscious thought. A tightening.

“Can I justify this?”

“Can I explain where it came from?”

“Can I make it useful before I act on it?”

That need for reaching. That’s Justification Anxiety.

And it’s the precise move that stops the signal before it can become visible.

Because a Rare Dot, by definition, cannot be justified yet. It arrives before the paradigm that would make it defensible exists.

The moment you demand justification from it, you are asking it to prove itself using the logic of the very paradigm it is trying to move beyond.

Which it can’t. Not yet. And that’s not a flaw.

It’s the anxiety that cannot tolerate sitting inside uncertainty without immediately resolving it.

But that is precisely what a Rare Dot asks of you.

Not resolution. Not justification. Just enough room to let the signal become more visible before the verdict arrives.

Once you see that Justification Anxiety is happening in you, the Rare Dot becomes much easier to read.

So... what are you actually looking for in the signal?

The Felt Sense

A Rare Dot arrives not in one, but as two signals at once.

No intuition, no gut feelings, no tacit knowledge. Those arrive when experience fits.

A gut feeling is an experience that fits below awareness. Tacit knowledge is experience that fits below articulation. A Rare Dot arrives when experience doesn’t fit at all.

So it couldn’t become instinct, or deep competence or accumulated wisdom.

It’s something else entirely different.

Something that doesn’t fit your current thinking. And something that resonates deeply at the same time.

That combination is the thing to look for.

Not one without the other. Both.

The first thing you’ll notice — before you can even name it — is the partial naming sensation. What some call a felt sense.

It’s that feeling that something you’ve been carrying without a word for it suddenly has one. Not completely. Not in a way you could explain to anyone yet. But enough.

Enough to know the signal is real. Enough to know you weren’t wrong to feel it.

Now... confusion can feel similar. And that’s worth paying attention to.

Confusion also arrives as something that doesn’t fit. But confusion tightens.

It wants to be resolved. Classified. Explained away.

Confusion points outward. Toward what’s missing. Toward the thing that would make it stop.

A felt sense does the opposite. It points inward.

Toward what’s already there but not yet nameable. It doesn’t want to be over. It wants to be lived.

So the test is actually pretty simple.

When something doesn’t fit your current thinking... notice what fires next.

Does it tighten toward resolution? Or does it make you quietly curious — about what it is, where it came from, what it might mean?

If it’s the second one, stay with it.

Uncertainty as a Source of Creativity

Here’s the thing about uncertainty. It doesn’t come only with Black Swans.

It’s not always a crisis. At times, it can be a source of creativity.

And if you’ve been following the Rare Dots work for a while — the posts, the ideas, the questions I keep returning to — something in it has been pulling you forward.

That pull is worth paying attention to.

Because every time you read something that resonates but don’t do anything with it, the gap between what’s moving in you and what you’re actually creating stays exactly where it is.

The new paradigm keeps almost arriving. Close enough to feel, far enough to still be looking.

And that gap doesn’t close by itself.

She did everything right. The inspection. The paperwork. The due diligence. And then they handed her the keys and everyone left.

Then, she found it.

The house had structural concerns.

What followed wasn’t just a repair problem.

It was SEVEN YEARS OF CONTRACTORS, insurers, city permits, legal advice, and competing systems... none of them talking to each other, all of them expensive, NONE OF THEM RESPONSIBLE FOR THE WHOLE PROBLEM.

“Everyone’s got their hand in your pocket,” she said. “With no guarantee they are correct.”

She didn’t fail to find help. Help was everywhere.

What didn’t exist was anyone who could see the full picture, start to finish

That gap — between the complexity of owning a home and the fragmented systems built to address it — became the FRANKENSTEIN PROBLEM that Bobbie couldn’t walk away from.

The Transaction Myth

Homeownership has always been sold as a transaction.

You save. You search. You buy. You get the keys. And then (the story goes) you’re a homeowner.

Done.

For decades, that was the paradigm.

Something broke, you called someone, they fixed it, you moved on. The system was simple enough that one person could navigate it alone.

Then everything got more complex.

Climate change rewrote insurance maps overnight. HOAs added governing layers nobody warned you about. City permits became prerequisites for work that your contractor had already quoted.

And suddenly the internet — supposedly the great equaliser — was everywhere and USELESS at once.

Full of information. Empty of trusty navigation.

“There’s information all over the place,” Bobbie said. “But there’s NO navigating those systems. And then trusting the information.”

So you’d find an answer. But you couldn’t tell if it was the right answer for your situation, in your city, under your HOA rules. And within what your insurance would actually cover...

The transaction paradigm said: find the right people and hire them.

But the right people kept contradicting each other. And none of them was responsible for the whole picture.

The framework wasn’t just too simple.

IT WAS ACTIVELY MISLEADING — pointing homeowners toward solutions that assumed a one-dimensional world that no longer existed.

The Circling

Bobbie knew something fundamental was broken in the system. She just couldn’t say what that was.

So she started writing. A blog. Then an advisory called Single Lady Estates, focused on women homeowners who had been socialised to accept authority rather than question it.

The work felt real. The problem felt real.

But every time she tried to explain what she was actually doing, the words came out smaller than the thing itself.

“I was grasping at words,” she said. “Trying to fit into fragmented boxes.”

The boxes were everywhere. Home services. Women’s financial literacy. Property law. Consumer advocacy.

Each one captured a piece of what she was circling. NONE OF THEM HELD THE WHOLE MESS TOGETHER.

She was building her own Frankenstein and didn’t know it yet.

Her experience is kind of like the founder trying to find her niche.

Like when it feels something keeps not fitting. Circling the same thing over and over. Getting closer. Never quite arriving.

Like the answer is there but keeps slipping away.

Something real was trying to surface. It just hadn’t found its way through yet.

The blog was real. The burden was real. The circling was real. What didn’t exist yet was the language to make it all one thing.

The Demo Call

The answer didn’t come from more writing, more refining, more circling.

It came from a demo call, when I first met Bobbie.

She encountered the Rare Dots concept and ran the process for the first time. She put in what she had been trying to do.

Years of writing. The blog. The burden. The circling.

What came back stopped her.

“I got back language that I had not — just below the surface,” she said. “New language that explained what I was trying to do.”

Not a summary of what she’d written. Not simply connecting the dots. But something that had been underneath all of it... trying to come through, that finally had words.

She signed up for the cohort that same day.

And together, THAT’S WHERE THE RUPTURE HAPPENED.

Rare Dots isn’t a framework for organising what you already know. It’s a process for exposing where accepted market logic breaks down — and building everything from a new logic.

Homeownership wasn’t a transaction. IT IS A SERIES OF ECOSYSTEMS. And those ecosystems were becoming more complex every year.

One rupture. One shift. A new paradigm.

And suddenly everything that had been fragmented and circling and almost-but-not-quite finally had a shape.

The Frankenstein problem was getting crushed.

What Became Possible

When the Rupture broke through, something was built from it.

A New Language.

“I was able to name the system,” Bobbie said. “And that was all I needed.”

Not a brand tagline. Not a simple positioning statement.

A genuine new way of seeing everything she had been building. Suddenly visible. Suddenly coherent.

For seven years Bobbie had been looking at a Frankenstein.

The insurance that suddenly tripled. The HOA rules that conflicted with the city permit. The contractor who quoted work that required three other approvals first.

Pieces from different bodies, stitched together, with no common language between them.

NOW SHE HAD A SINGLE LANGUAGE.

“It’s in my messaging. It’s in my marketing. It is in the way I run the business.”

For the first time, Bobbie wasn’t trying to fit her business into existing boxes. She was operating from her own paradigm.

Speaking from it. Building from it.

The question now wasn’t whether the paradigm was real. It was what had become possible that was not possible before.

Ask Alex

The Rupture didn’t stay on paper for long.

Bobbie built an AI system — Ask Alex — encoded entirely in the paradigm the Rare Dots process had surfaced.

Homeowners arrive with their Frankenstein problem. The insurance dispute. The HOA conflict. The permit that nobody mentioned.

What comes back isn’t another list of contractors.

It’s a MAP.

The different ecosystems their Frankensteins are made of. The order in which to approach them. The to-do list that saves them from the most expensive mistake homeowners make — going to the wrong person first.

“The whole idea is to save you time, money and frustration,” Bobbie said.

But something deeper changed.

For seven years, she had wondered if it was just her. If she had done something wrong. If the problem was her and not the system.

It wasn’t.

“I got through that by myself,” she said. “As a single woman. If I can do this, anyone can do this.”

The Rupture didn’t just reorganise her business. It reorganised her relationship to everything she had been through.

“You think you own your home,” she said. “But you’re really governed by all these rules and regulations that diminish your sovereignty.”

She paused.

“But you can master that. If you know what to do.”

That’s what the cohort gave her. Not just a better product. Not just a clearer message.

A different place to stand.

She wasn’t fighting the Frankenstein anymore. She was teaching others to see it clearly.

And that’s what Rare Dots makes possible.

Not just a rupture in how you see your business. A rupture in how you see yourself inside it.

The brilliant ones. And the passionate ones.

The brilliant ones build real paradigms. New ways of seeing. Work that reorganises everything around it. And nobody feels pulled by it. They call it “interesting” and move on.

The passionate ones go straight for the heart. They name the desire. They hold the vision. They promise transformation. And they deliver three days of peak experience followed by a crash landing.

Both are failing for the same reason. And it’s not what either of them thinks.

By the end of this article, you’ll know exactly what’s been missing. And why naming it changes what becomes possible.

Same Wall. Different Sides.

Neither of us is wrong.

But we both blame our half-part.

Mathematical mind: not being compelling enough. Not making the work accessible. Being too abstract, too cerebral, too inside your own thinking.

Woo-woo magician: not being rigorous enough. Not having the proof. Moving people temporarily and watching it fade.

So we both did the only thing that made sense to our half. We worked harder on our half. And the same result kept appearing.

The work landed as “interesting.” Or the three days of magic transformation followed by a Tuesday that felt exactly like the Friday before.

I spent years on the mathematical side of this.

Building the paradigm. Sharpening the thinking. Watching people nod with genuine interest... and then not move. Again and again.

That’s not a communication problem. And it’s not a depth problem either.

It’s a structural problem.

Specifically, there’s a gap between a real paradigm and the desire a person can actually live inside. And nobody on either side was building in that gap. Because nobody had a process for it.

Your half wasn’t wrong. It was just... half.

And the gap between the two halves has been sitting there, unnamed, producing the same failure on both sides.

But there’s something underneath that gap that nobody’s talked about yet...

The Year The Scaffolding Disappeared

The gap didn’t just appear.

Someone built it.

In 1975, Bandler and Grinder published The Structure of Magic. Gregory Bateson wrote the introduction.

Genuine groundbreaking work.

Not scientific in the strong sense... but trying to develop as such.

An attempt to understand how language itself structures subjective experience. How the words people use don’t just describe their reality but actively build it.

It had something rare. An analytical scaffolding AND the emotional pull work together. The paradigm AND the desire. Both halves. Connected.

Then in 1983, Tony Robbins did his first walk on fire.

He understood something true. Desire alone FEELS like transformation.

What he did was take NLP, strip its analytical scaffolding and intensify the emotional part.

And the market responded well because people left his events truly different.

For a few days...

A full generation copied Tony Robbins, replicating the emotional peak without any analytical scaffolding supporting it.

Then that lineage hit the internet.

The first wave of online personal development — Oprah’s book club era, Louise Hay’s affirmations era, Chopra’s abundance era — normalised the idea that naming the desire and believing the outcome was the complete mechanism.

Then the Secret arrived in 2006. And made it a doctrine.

Desire plus Belief is sufficient.

The analytical bridge got removed entirely.

Every course, programme, certification, and mastermind was built on top of that paradigm.

And it’s optimised for one thing only: performative transformation. Not transformation itself. The performance of it.

No wonder it kept delivering temporary peak experiences followed by crash landings.

This paradigm cannot self-correct. The bridge was removed at the foundation level.

In fact, The Secret is NOT even a paradigm.

And here’s why...

Possibility Without Person. The Trap.

The Secret Paradigm made one specific error.

It confused a Desire State with a New Possibility.

“You’ll finally be free” is not a New Possibility.

Nothing becomes structurally possible that wasn’t possible before. It’s a desired condition dressed in the language of possibility. Which is why the desire it produces evaporates.

There’s nothing underneath it holding it up.

A TRUE paradigm generates real New Possibilities. Something becomes structurally possible that wasn’t possible before.

Not wished for. Not emotionally amplified. Not just a vision.

But rather a structurally inevitable consequence of a New Truth.

But here’s where it gets interesting.

The mathematical mind can produce TRUE paradigms. Real New Possibilities follow. But then fails to cross to a Desire State.

Take Einstein’s General Relativity Paradigm.

Published 1915. A TRUE paradigm.

It reorganised everything — mass, gravity, space, time. Real New Possibilities followed necessarily from the new truth. Not imagined. Not desired into existence. Structurally inevitable.

Black holes among them.

Paradigm → Possibility

Karl Schwarzschild finds the first exact solution of the new Paradigm while fighting on the Eastern Front of World War 1. The mathematics is clear. Black holes follow necessarily from the New Truth.

Yet, such a New Possibility was too strange...

Too far from how the universe ought to behave. It violated what was deemed acceptable. Legible.

Schwarzschild calls his own solution physically meaningless. Einstein tried for years to make the singularities disappear.

Paradigm → Possibility → STOP

The Desire State on the other side of that Possibility — the awe experience of living inside a universe more extreme, more strange and larger than anything previously imaginable — never got crossed.

That’s the mathematical mind’s precise failure mode.

Now. What if a woo-woo magician had seen the same equations? Same black holes emerging?

They wouldn’t struggle with the crossing. They’d skip it.

They’d jump straight to the Desire State.

“You are a black hole. You contain infinite density. You bend the space around you. Step into your gravitational power.”

Paradigm → Desire State

Which is... pointing to something real about the human experience of awe.

But without the Possibility step — without the structural consequence that follows from the paradigm — it floats. It’s a pure emotional state, not a real New Possibility.

Paradigm → Desired State

The Possibility step never happened. It confused a Desire State with a New Possibility.

Two camps. Two failures. Same missing move.

Mathematical mind: Paradigm → Possibility → STOP.

Woo-woo magician: Paradigm → Desire State. Skip (real) New Possibility.

Nobody has been running the full sequence.

Once you experience that, it changes everything about what can become possible...

Both Sides. Same New Possibility.

So what does the full sequence actually open up?

For the mathematical mind — you stop being the person who has to convince people their paradigm matters.

Right now that’s your job. Every room. Every conversation. You’re carrying the work in because the work can’t carry itself yet. The paradigm is real.

The New Possibility is real. But without the crossing to Person Becoming, the pull was never built in.

Paradigm → Possibility → STOP. You pushing.

The sequence changes that. The New Possibility creates its own pull. You built the bridge. The work crosses without you pushing.

That’s the difference between spending your energy defending the paradigm and spending it deepening it.

For the woo-woo magician — you stop being someone whose gift only works sometimes.

The gift is real. You know it is. You’ve felt it land. But you’ve also watched it not survive the week. And you’ve never been quite sure what you did differently on the days it worked.

Paradigm → Desire State. No ground.

When the Desire State has a real New Possibility underneath it — not a wished-for state, but a structural consequence of a genuine new truth — the gift becomes reliable. Not conditional on the room. Not dependent just on your energy that day.

Paradigm → Possibility → Person Becoming. Ground under the Desire.

“I don’t know what the heck I’m doing... I feel like a FRAUD.”

Most people doing something genuinely original hit this wall.

And when they do, they panic.

They assume the problem is them. They assume they are still not ready. Still not credible enough. Still too behind.

That their work is not as unique and valuable as they thought it was.

So they start shrinking what they’re doing into something easier to say, easier to defend. And most importantly... easier to BELIEVE IN THEMSELVES.

And so they reach for familiar labels:

Consultant. Coach. Strategist. Author. Educator.

Whatever sounds normal enough to say out loud without getting THAT dismissive look.

I used to do that too.

But that’s usually the wrong move.

By the end of this article, you’ll understand why that panic is actually a sign you’re ahead, not behind.

And why the thing you need to name isn’t what you do. It’s who this work is making you.

The “Make It Clear” Trap

Yet, most people do what makes sense. They fix what they believe is the problem.

They rewrite the bio. Try a new positioning angle. Spend a week on a cleaner way to explain what they do.

And somewhere in all of that, they arrive at the same conclusion as before:

“I still don’t know what the heck my work even is!”

I did this for months. And the more I worked on the messaging, the more stuck I felt. Which made no sense.

Until I understood what was actually happening.

Because there’s a difference between not knowing what you’re doing... and doing something that doesn’t have a name yet.

The first is a clarity problem. The second is something entirely different.

Something that the “make it more clear” actually MAKES IT WORSE.

The Wrong Question

Here’s what happens when you go looking for “clarity” on what you do.

You try to find a tagline. An archetype. A category that’s close enough. And you try it on. And it fits... kind of. Enough to stop the panic for a while.

But the discomfort comes back.

So you find another tagline. A better 3-step quiz. A sharper branding exercise.

And the cycle repeats.

What nobody tells you is that the whole search is built on a question that doesn’t apply to you.

“In which of the EXISTING categories do I belong to?”

Carl Jung spent decades answering that question.

Twelve archetypes. Sage, Rebel, Hero, Magician and so on. And the ENTIRE PERSONAL BRANDING INDUSTRY descended from that work.

Behind all of it sits the same assumption:

Think about how most professional labels work.

Doctor. Lawyer. Engineer.

You train for something that already exists. The Identity Category came first. You just have to step into one of them.

For most people, that’s exactly the right job.

BUT YOUR CASE IS DIFFERENT.

You’re not trying to fit in a pre-existing label.

You’re in the middle of becoming someone new through your work itself.

Because your work is not a profession in the existing paradigm. Your work is creating a new paradigm.

And that new paradigm comes with new identities.

Which means as a First Creator, you don’t have a Branding problem. You have a Becoming problem.

And that requires a different approach.

The Becoming Problem

Here’s a simple way to think about it.

A caterpillar doesn’t have a branding problem. It has a becoming problem.

If you cut open the cocoon mid-transformation, it looks like a mess. Not quite a caterpillar anymore. Not yet a butterfly.

Just this WEIRD, unrecognisable thing that doesn’t fit any clear category.

So if you tried to brand it... what would you even call it?

That’s why trying to brand a caterpillar as a butterfly before the transformation doesn’t help. It just produces a confused caterpillar with a better tagline.

Yet, that’s what most branding advice does to a First Creator.

Consultant. Coach. Strategist.

They’re all approximations of something that’s mid-transformation while trying to fit a clear category.

And you keep trying again and again... because that feels like the responsible thing to do.

But every tagline you find feels like a lie. Because it IS a lie.

You’re not a finished thing yet. You’re in the middle of becoming one.

And naming the becoming is a completely different job than naming the being.

The Entanglement Effect

So what does naming the becoming actually look like?

It starts with a different question. Not “what do I do?” but “who is this work making me?”

Because what’s actually happening is messier. And more interesting.

The work is changing you. You’re changing the work. Round and round.

You become more specific as the work demands more from you. The work becomes more itself as you become more capable of carrying it.

That’s not a problem. That’s the process.

I call it THE ENTANGLEMENT EFFECT.

And the person inside that entanglement… that’s the First Creator.

And once you’re inside that entanglement, two things become possible that weren’t possible before:

First, you can name your Promised Identity.

The kind of person this work is calling into existence.

Not a job title. Not a pre-defined archetype. The actual identity forms through everything you’re building.

Think of it as a noun. It names the person on the other side of this transformation.

Second, you can name your Becoming Mode.

That’s how you operate right now, inside the formation.

Not a finished thing. The live process. The practice. The methodology.

Think of it as a verb. The specific way you work, which only someone building YOUR paradigm would work.

One gives desire. The other gives truth.

Together, they make something possible that neither can produce alone: a new identity category that didn’t exist before you started becoming it.

That’s Category Identity Creation.

And what it opens isn’t “better branding”.

It’s the end of reaching for a label that almost fits.

And the beginning of work that finally has a name worth believing in.

“Ok, Nuno... but how do I know I’m actually a ‘First Creator’ and not just kidding myself?”

That’s a fair question. An honest one.

Because nobody taps you on the shoulder and says:

“Congratulations — this confusion is officially ORIGINAL WORK now.”

That moment never comes. And waiting for it is part of what keeps people stuck.

Here’s what I look at instead.

Not how you feel about your work. Not how confident you are. Not whether the panic has gone away.

I look at what you do with the labels.

Confused people are desperate for something that fits.

They try a tagline. It doesn’t quite work. They try another one... now in a performative way.

They’re looking for social validation.

First Creators do something different.

They try the label. It almost fits. They try again. But at some point, they give up being performative.

They no longer look for social validation.

Because something in them knows it’s not true.

Consultant. Coach. Strategist...

They’ve tried all that. THEY’RE DONE WITH ALL THAT.

Confused people are relieved when something fits well enough.

First Creator keeps rejecting it until they create their own paradigm.

And if you’ve been rejecting the almost-fits... you already know which one you are.

But knowing you’re a First Creator is only half of it.

The other half is naming what’s actually forming through you.

You still have the fragments. The intrusions. The half-formed ideas.

The work that feels important but keeps drifting through every label you try. The identity that’s forming but has no clean name yet.

That gap is exactly what I’ve been working on.

Constantly moving between altars with their hopes and prayers...

Yet, every real Genesis begins the same way: when a ONE TRUTH becomes the one that matters the most to reorganise the rest.

The Portfolio of Prayers

Zeus, Athena, Apollo...

Ancient Greece had the same problem.

Hesiod wrote a practical farming guide around 700 BC.

His Works and Days manuscript included when to plant, when to harvest, and which gods to petition for each.

Zeus for rain. Demeter for grain. Hermes if someone stole your tools.

One small god for each task, keeping everyone in the Olympians busy with their own matters.

The Greek farmer didn’t just tend his land. He managed a portfolio of divine relationships.

Each with its own protocols, its own different tactics, its own risks if any were forgotten.

Neglect god Demeter and the grain rots. Forget Zeus and the rain doesn’t come. Offend Hermes and your tools go missing.

A single garden of vegetables. Five different gods.

Nobody back then seemed to find this odd.

Nobody until… Xenophanes.

In the late 6th century BC, he was one of the first to push beyond the crowded Pantheon toward a different idea. That the world is governed by one deeper unifying principle.

Not many. One.

Plato followed that same idea.

At the top of his philosophy sat the Form of the Good. One sovereign principle from which all other truths took their meaning. From which everything else reorganised its order.

For centuries, this idea stayed philosophical.

Constantine made it civilisational.

One Truth. One Empire.

In 312 CE, Constantine fought the Battle of the Milvian Bridge, which he had no odds of winning. But he won.

Influenced by his mother Helena, he credited it to one God. Not many. One God above all the others.

And that moment became decisive in how the Roman Empire reorganised itself.

What had long been a philosophical idea became now a centre of gravity for an entire civilisation.

One truth. Everything else reorganises around it.

But this idea of One Truth didn’t stay in ancient Rome.

Back to 2026, we see a similar pattern in different places:

• In Science, Thomas Kuhn spent his career studying how it actually evolves. Not progressively, but by revolutions. One new paradigm replaces the old one. And everything else reorganises around it.

• In Performance, Gary Keller’s entire idea in The One Thing is organised around a single question: “What’s the one thing you can do such that by doing it, everything else becomes easier or unnecessary?”

• In Finance, volatility became the most important thing to trade, not price. Once people saw that, the Derivatives Market exploded because the whole game was reorganised around a single variable.

Different domains. Same structure. One truth.

Beneath great work, there is One Truth that makes everything else work.

I always get excited whenever I see this concept in any field.

I can’t help it...

That’s why when I came across Evaldo Albuquerque’s The 16 Word Sales Letter, it got my attention.

One Belief To Rule All Marketing

Evaldo is a Brazilian copywriter who broke Agora’s all-time sales record in 2018. Over $80 million in a single year.

Yet, even inside the marketing industry, most people have never heard of him.

His entire method is simple:

Before you write a single word of copy, define the one belief.

The single thing your reader must believe by the end for everything else to land.

Science. Finance. Performance. And now Marketing.

What’s more, Evaldo’s piece fits perfectly with what I had developed here:

The method is to elevate a conjecture to a postulate and build a new paradigm from there.

That’s what Einstein did with E =mc2.

He made the speed of light a constant as a New Truth and built a whole new Physics where something became possible that was not possible before.

That’s the backbone of the Rare Dots Revenue cohort.

With a caveat. An important one.

Where the Objective World Ends

Paradigms in science, physics and markets are within the outer world. What I did was extend it inwards:

• From the outer to our inner world.

• From the measurable to the felt sense.

• From the well articulated to the pre-verbal.

And that’s where things get interesting. That’s also where Evaldo’s framework needed to go further.

Because now the main aim of the Founders I work with is not to simply write better copy to make more money. That’s important, but not the main thing.

What they REALLY want is to make what is emerging in them matter in the real world.

And that’s not a marketing problem.

That’s a Genesis problem.

Something is trying to emerge within you. You can feel it. But it hasn’t been named yet. And without a name, without a One Truth that reorganises everything, everything else stays stuck in the pre-verbal.

Felt to you. Invisible to everyone else.

Because Genesis has a requirement that no marketing strategy can teach you.

Before there is a market, there is a making. And before there is a making, there is a believing.

Every real creation begins as a truth the world cannot yet confirm. Which means the First Creator has to do something that looks impossible at first.

The First Creator has to face what’s emerging in them, trust it, and give it form before it’s legitimised. Before the proof exists. Before the audience is ready. Before even the market asks for it.

That’s the difference between Genesis and content creation.

Content creation performs what you already know. Genesis names what you’re still becoming.

So what does naming a One Truth do?

A One Truth is the single belief that makes people commit to your creation. If this One Truth does not land, nothing lands.

And what does it require to name a One Truth?

Three things. And they all have to align:

The New Possibility. The Desire. The Methodology.

• New Possibility is what makes something possible that was not possible before.

• Desire is what makes people commit to that new possibility.

• Methodology is what allows them to enter it.

One loose part, and your One Truth will collapse. Make it all fit together, and it ruptures.

The idea is simple... but the execution is hard.

Still Performing. Still Stuck.

I know because I spent three months going in circles trying to make it work.

The framework made sense. The logic was sound. But every time I tried to apply it, something was off.

Like I was following it by the letter. Like building from the outside in, not the inside out.

Not naming something true. Assembling something correct.

And then I understood what was wrong.

I was still a polytheist. Just a more sophisticated one. With clever language.

But I hadn’t become truly the First Client of my own creation.

The moment I did, it stopped feeling like a framework.

It felt like Genesis.

That’s why I’ve built Element #1 of the Paradigm Kit—the Kit I’ve been talking about in the past few weeks.

That Element #1 is the naming of your One Truth.

From the inside out.

In fact, the ideas behind this article came directly from running Kit Element #1 on my own work. What you just read is what that extraction looks like when it becomes an article.

Because without your Genesis moment, your offers sound like everyone else’s. The desire isn’t sharp enough to compel. And even if the desire is there, your methodology doesn’t feel like the only way.

• You get to know the biggest Desire you need to bring in clients.

• And it shows whether your Methodology makes you the only real option they have.

One Truth. Everything else reorganises around it.

Dog. Coffee. Room on fire.

That’s not a joke about someone else.

That’s your Tuesday.

Inbox. Urgency. Handle it. Next one. Repeat.

“I spent the day putting out fires instead of doing real work.”

But your real problem is not that. Somewhere along the way, there’s a more disturbing question that keeps coming:

“Wasn’t this supposed to be different?”

It was.

In 1959, Peter Drucker gave a name to what you were supposed to become. Not a job title. A liberation.

The Knowledge Worker.

Someone whose primary resource was their mind. Their judgment. Their curiosity. Their thinking.

Nobody could take it from you.

That was the promise.

“Productive work in today’s society and economy is work that applies vision, knowledge and concepts. Work that is based on the mind rather than on the hand”
—Peter Drucker, Landmarks of Tomorrow (1959)

By the end of this article, you’ll see exactly what happened to it — and why recovering what Drucker actually pointed at is the only thing that matters right now.

Nobody Told You It Was ‘Clickbait’ In The Highest Form

Get educated. Apply that knowledge. Get rewarded for it.

You didn’t imagine that. It wasn’t a side effect of taking mushrooms. It was a real promise.

And you followed it. Most of us did. I did it.

In my case, for two decades.

I still remember when I truly questioned it. The day I got promoted to another ‘management position’. In a domain I barely knew.

So, I bought a few books. Ready to extend my ‘knowledge worker’ skills. That’s when I thought to myself...

“I already know where this is going to head... I’ve done this 3 or 4 times already. Maybe I should do something DIFFERENT this time?”

I never read those books.

Got the payrise anyway.

It was never about “knowledge worker” anyway. It was about putting out fires.

Because Drucker’s “thinking for a living” vision became a paradigm that optimises something much simpler:

But that’s not “knowledge worker”.

It’s BRAIN SLAVERY.

The Roof, The Roof, The Roof Is On Fire...

Yet, that’s what the system rewards you with promotions and Bonuses. And slowly, putting out fires stops feeling like a failure mode.

It became the JOB STATUS.

So by the time AI shows up... the “knowledge worker” hasn’t actually been a Knowledge Worker in Drucker’s sense for 60 years.

They’ve been highly educated, WELL-PAID FIREFIGHTERS

And here’s the irony...

The system made you competent for NOT panicking. You stay steady. You have your coffee. You’re handling it.

Being in the middle of the fire is literally your whole job. Being in a survival mode is your new norm.

Your entire identity is built around that.

So when the biggest fire of all shows up — the ending of the “knowledge worker” paradigm that is giving your job the last breath of meaning... it just looks like another fire to manage.

“That’s ok. Things are going to be ok.”

Another email to send.
Another process to deploy.
Another HR compliance to finish.

Because that’s the only thing you’re left to know how to do.

The Dead Cat Bounce Of Dying Paradigms

Eventually, some of you start to feel it.

The well-paid firefighting becomes unbearable. The gap between Drucker’s promise and Tuesday’s reality becomes impossible to ignore.

And now AI is making you feel anxious. Unsafe. Unprepared.

So you ask for more ‘education’. For more ‘knowledge’.

And what does the paradigm do?

The only thing it knows how to do. It sells you ‘mastery’. The feeling of becoming an “excellent professional”.

Executive MBAs. HR leadership courses. And the AI certifications for using new tech in old paradigms.

Like “horses on wheels”.

That’s the Dead Cat Bounce when the old paradigm is dying.

1514. 2026. Same Trick.

This isn’t new.

In 1514, a man named Sigismondo Fanti published the first illustrated manual on the ART OF WRITING.

Printed in Venice. Detailed instructions on how to “hold the pen in the correct way”.

The manual sold well.

Of course it did. People were anxious. The old world was shifting.

The printing press had already been running for over 60 years by then.

Ironically, that anxiety led to a new vogue for the importance of handwriting.

New styles. New schools. New techniques. People looked for more ‘education’. For more ‘knowledge’.

It gave that sense of being an “excellent professional”... in a dying paradigm.

2026, and you see that psychological trap:

Yet, some of you start to see it.

You stopped attending the HR leadership courses. Stop asking your boss for the EMBA funding. Stop trying to fit wheels on horses.

And left.

Left the corporate inbox. Left the well-paid firefighting. Left the promotions that rewarded subordination over thinking.

Finally. Real work. On your own terms.

Except.

The same paradigm was waiting on the other side.

Courses. Masterminds. Frameworks.

The correct method for finding your correct niche for your correct offer.
The correct system that fits the latest LinkedIn algo.
The correct way to build an audience.

Different fires. Same survival mode.

Except this time you paid for the privilege.

Thousands of dollars. Hours of implementation. Genuine effort.

And walked away with a folder of PDFs and a private Facebook group nobody posts in anymore.

The promise was transformation.

What arrived was more information. More things to learn, implement, optimise, track. More psyschological promise:

“Do this correctly and you’ll be safe”

And when the transformation didn’t arrive—when yet another course delivered information instead of freedom—something happened.

A wave of RESENTMENT.

People aren’t sceptical of one programme anymore. They’re sceptical of the entire shape of it.

The modules. The frameworks.

The “here’s the information, now implement it” logic. The gap between what was offered and what arrived — every single time.

That gap didn’t just disappoint people.

It broke something.

The trust that made the whole paradigm run.

Because everywhere it went, it delivered the same thing. More to know. More to do. More to optimise.

Corporate. Entrepreneurial. Creator economy. Everywhere.

The paradigm is ending. Not just having a crisis.

Ending.

Creating New Paradigms

But what ends with it isn’t the desire for original thinking.

What ends is the only mechanism that was ever available for it.

And in that gap — between the dying logic and whatever comes next — something is becoming possible that wasn’t before.

Not a new framework. Not a better correct way.

The ability to create your own paradigm.

Think about what that actually means.

Not solving existing problems inside existing markets. Not niching down into someone else’s category.

Starting from the inner truth that doesn’t fit any existing framework... and discovering what new market it creates.

That’s a fundamentally different starting point.

The knowledge economy always moved downstream. From what’s already known, already validated, already safe enough to package and sell.

Find the proven demand. Build the proven solution. Apply the proven method.

But paradigms don’t come from downstream. They come from the signal that doesn’t fit.

The weird idea that collapses every time you try to explain it in the old language.

Not that it’s wrong. It’s more like the old vocabulary has no mechanism to make sense of it.

It isn’t a half-formed idea waiting for the right framework. It’s pointing to something that doesn’t fit any framework (yet).

To preserve what’s forming before the dying paradigm gets hold of it. To amplify it. To help you speak from your own paradigm, not the dying one.

Not built from what’s already known. Built from what’s forming… before the dying paradigm gets hold of it and turns it into another “horse on wheels”.

Drucker called this a liberation.

Because his original vision was never about acquiring more knowledge. It was about the mind as the tool of production.

Generating work that is irreducibly yours. Untouchable. Genuine agency.

That’s what’s waiting on the other side of the dying paradigm.

“OK, Nuno... but what makes this Anti-Slop Paradigm Kit different from the thing I already paid $10,000 for that exact same promise to build my own stuff?”

Nothing. If you approach it the same way.

Come looking for the correct method to apply correctly and you’ll find one. It’ll produce the same result. Legible. Competent. Sounds like everyone else.

Because that’s what the old paradigm does to new tools. It domesticates them. Like horses on wheels.

The difference is in the starting point.

I’ve been through enough frameworks to know they all start from the same place. From what you already know and helps you organise it better.

The Kit starts before that.

Before the knowing has language. Before the reflex kicks in to make it safe.

You can’t prove that from the outside. I know.

But here’s what I can show you.

One client I work with had been carrying the same half-formed ideas for three years. Every time she tried to articulate it, it came out sounding like positioning advice she’d already heard.

Same vocabulary. Same shape. Same dead end.

The moment she stopped trying to explain it and started working with it upstream things started to change. Protecting it, amplifying it before the old logic could translate it.

Her thinking was moving somewhere it hadn’t been before. New coordinates. New vocabulary.

New conversations happened that hadn’t been possible before.

That’s not a new framework.

That’s a different STARING POINT.

I laughed. Because he was right that this isn’t for everyone. And wrong about everything else.

And the people who read that comment and felt something different... those are the people it is for.

Three honest options.

1/ Stay where you are. If putting out fires feels like progress, if the promotions still feel worth it, if the USP frameworks are still delivering — this isn’t for you yet. Honestly.

2/ Figure it out alone. Some people do. You can journal. You can play with your weird ideas. You can follow it without a methodology. The thinking is yours. Nobody can take it from you.

What it costs is time spent in the loop — sensing something, reaching for a framework to explain it, watching the framework take over, starting again. Most people spend years in that loop without noticing it.

3/ Or follow what I’m building. No promises about what the Kit will exactly look like when it’s done. I don’t fully know yet.

What I know is every programme that let you down made the same move first. They handed you the destination before you’d taken a step.

That’s how the old paradigm sells itself. And how it quietly turns whatever you bring to it into something it already recognises.

The Kit doesn’t work that way. That’s not “being difficult”. That’s the whole point.

That’s the direction I know. Away from the dying paradigm’s logic.

Toward work that is genuine. New coordinates. Irreducibly yours.

The “knowledge worker” paradigm is ending. Sixty-six years after Drucker named what you were supposed to become. What comes next is genuinely open.

And for the first time in a long time, that’s not a threat. That’s the answer to the question you stopped asking.

“Wasn’t this supposed to be different?”

It was.

And it still can be.

Just upstream of where the knowledge economy was ever looking.

And as much as you’re resilient... after a while, that starts to MESS UP WITH YOUR HEAD

Because how do you make sense of so much response and so little commitment?

It took me a while to realise that what I had built wasn’t a door for people to cross.

It was a beautifully furnished WAITING ROOM

People came in. Felt understood. Had a small breakthrough. And then… left exactly as they came.

That was the trap.

Not just for me. For them too.

Why The Best-Performing Content Is Sometimes The MOST COSTLY To You And Your Audience

My content wasn’t ‘bad’.

That’s what made it DANGEROUS.

Bad content is easy to reject. Empty content is easy to diagnose.

But content that feels deep, gets strong reactions, and still doesn’t move people can keep you trapped for a very long time. Because it rewards you just enough to stop you questioning what it is actually doing.

That was the point where I had to admit what I did not want to admit:

What I was calling ‘value’ was something else. It was helping people understand their reality without changing the reality around them.

It was giving them language for what they felt, but not a threshold.

And without a threshold, nothing changes.

It’s like sending cookie fortunes.

That’s when I saw one of the most profitable social media traps:

THE SELF-VALIDATION VIRUS

→ Content that gives the audience the feeling of insight without the cost of action.

→ Content that gives the creator the feeling of importance without the discipline of building desire.

→ Content that keeps both sides emotionally fed while the algorithm sits above them, cashing in on our work.

That is why this virus spreads so well.

It gives everyone involved just enough payoff to keep the system alive while there’s no change.

The creator gets engagement. The audience gets relief. The platform gets recurrence.

Nobody crosses anything.

Seeing the Truth Is NOT the Same as Stepping Into It

What really got under my skin was one DM I received.

It was something like:

“Your call made me realise I’ve been putting off what I already need to get on and do, instead of looking for something easier.”

And for a moment, I thought...

THAT’S IT.

That is the kind of message that makes you think the work has done what it was supposed to do.

He saw it. He named it. He could even say it back in their own words. It sounded like commitment.

But then nothing happened. Crickets.

No real decision. No follow-through. No crossing.

And I don’t mean he just “ghosted me.”

I mean… there was no sign of the action he had just said he now saw so clearly. No sign of the move he supposedly was ready to make.

It was as if the insight from that one-hour call had given him the feeling that he now had what he needed.

But he hadn’t crossed anything.

He had touched the truth for an hour, felt the charge of it... and then somehow treated that moment like the work had already been done.

It hadn’t.

This is the whole social-media pattern.

And it’s time to break it.

Fixing→Improvement→Opportunity→Self-Validation

For a long time, the idea was simple.

If you were helping someone, you’re usually doing one of three things.

• Fix something broken.

• Improve something that failed to deliver what it promised.

• Or replacing the current thing with something different, a new opportunity.

That’s it.

Fixing is the business of replacing like-for-like.
You get what you had before.

Improvement makes the current thing work better.
It’s the optimisation path.

New Opportunity does something more disruptive. It makes something possible that was not thought possible before.

A new opportunity opens new ways of being, living or working.

It makes fixing and improving feel like staying loyal to an older, smaller game. Because it replaces both with something different.

Not fixed. Not better.

What social media has done is introduce something else.

A counterfeit layer that sits outside those three.

A SEDATIVE.

Something that looks like value, sounds like value, even feels like value—while killing change.

• It doesn’t fix anything.

• It doesn’t improve anything.

• It doesn’t open a new opportunity.

It just helps people feel more understood inside the life they are still not leaving.

THAT’S SELF-VALIDATION.

It can sound insightful. It can sound compassionate. It can sound deep. But structurally, nothing changes.

It’s closer to temporary psychic soothing.

An identity-confirming emotional consumption.

This is where things got badly confused. That line people love repeating: “meet them where they are.”

Meeting them where they are is not the same as “comforting them where they are.”

Meeting them where they are is the beginning. Letting them stay there— feeling beautifully understood—is the trap.

That is what the algorithm wants. Because comfort creates recurrence.

Comfort gets the like. Comfort gets the nod. Comfort gets the return tomorrow.

That’s what I realised:

Self-Validation is resonance without a threshold.

It gets “I needed this.”

Not “I need this.”

Resonance vs. Rupture

Now, none of this means the answer is to stop resonating.

I tried being harder.

More challenging. More “truth bombs”. Didn’t work either.

Because without resonance first, provocation just triggers defensiveness. And a defensive reader is not crossing anything either.

Resonance matters.

Resonance is what gets you into someone’s world.

It lowers defences. It builds trust. It makes them feel like you’re the person who finally gets it.

And you need that.

The problem is when you stop there.

Because resonance on its own soothes the mind.

They feel validated. You feel validated. That feels good. For both of you.

But validation alone is not movement. It’s confirmation of the current state.

• Their current identity stays exactly the same

• Their explanatory model stays the same

• Their daily behaviour stays the same

That’s why they will DM you with “that’s exactly it!”—and go right back to the same life.

What you need is Rupture.

Rupture is the moment you can no longer remain psychologically safe inside your current reality.

Resonance says:
“Yes, this is me.”

Rupture says:
“Damn. I can’t just sit here and do nothing about it.”

Rupture does not mean skipping resonance.

Resonance without rupture creates emotional sedation.

Rupture upgrades resonance by adding movement. It creates a threshold.

If you rupture before resonance, you often trigger defensiveness. If you resonate without rupture, you create sedation.

But how exactly do you create a rupture?

Resonance→Rupture→Opportunity

Let me show you how it works with an example.

Resonance-only:
“You’re not lazy. You’re overwhelmed.”

Response:
“I needed this!”

Warm. Grateful. Liked the post. Back to the same life by Tuesday.

Now compare.

Resonance with Rupture:
“You call it overwhelm. But in many cases, overwhelm is just the legitimate language you use when you no longer trust yourself to choose and disappoint people.”

Response:
“Damn”

That “damn” is the old thinking cracking.

They’re not comfortable anymore.

And uncomfortable people make decisions.

But that’s not all.

Look closer...

What that rupture is doing isn’t just reframing what they thought was true.

It’s opening the gap where something new can finally get in.

A new opportunity.

Opportunity added:
“The solution is not better productivity. It’s rebuilding self-trust in your decision-making so your actions stop feeling like self-betrayal.”

That is the sequence.

Now there is a new place to go.

Resonance→Rupture→Opportunity

The rupture is not provocation for the sake of it.

It is a structured destabilisation to open a new opportunity.

Because without the opportunity, rupture is just destabilisation.

Without rupture, resonance is just sedation.

That’s the key.

That’s the whole thing.

When that rupture is paired with a genuine new opportunity, the message stops being a cookie fortune and starts becoming a pull that moves people.

This is the part where you get to decide what kind of founder you want to be.

Because if you don’t see this trap, it will happily let you build a whole body of work around it.

A beautiful one, even.

Thoughtful posts. Strong reactions. Emotional DMs.

People telling you that you’re brilliant. That your work matters. That they’ve never heard it said like this before.

Yet NOBODY CROSSING ANYTHING

Your audience keeps nodding and going back to the same life.
You keep feeling encouraged and making more of the same.
The platform keeps eating both of you. Alive.

That is what’s at stake here.

You are either building a body of work that moves people. Or you are building a very elegant WAITING ROOM.

The good news is this: if you’re already making content that resonates, you’re already halfway there.

You won’t need to reinvent everything from scratch. You already have the foundation. It just needs one thing more.

The one thing I wish I’d had two years ago.

Perfectly competent. Perfectly polished. Perfectly dead.

“Can you name what’s real, before the world agrees it’s real?”

That’s the question that will decide who wins in the AI era.

Not: “Can you post consistently, and consistently get 30+ likes?”

Because the people who can answer the first question WON’T just build “products & services”.

They won’t just “market their offers”.

They won’t just “solve pain points”.

THEY CREATE NEW WORLDS

New ecosystems. New paradigms. New coordinates.

And once someone steps into your world... every “thought leader” starts to feel like the same old, same old.

But that’s not all.

You know what else AI is doing right now?

It’s making THEFT like normal. Not just “inspiration.” Actual copy-paste.

Someone takes an idea, takes the structure, takes the language... runs it through AI so it sounds “different” and posts it like it’s theirs.

Substack has already had plagiarism blowups.

And I saw that happening the other day on LinkedIn as well.

This guy posted a “hot take” as if it were his breakthrough. It happens that the person who came up with the idea first saw it.

And when that person, the original creator, called it out in the comments section, her comments got deleted.

The whole thing turned out into a dogpile because everyone’s like: “Yep. This is the internet now.”

But here’s what I think: the problem isn’t AI.

The problem is what people are using AI for… and what the market is rewarding them for.

More polish. More articulation. More “proven frameworks”. More template-like thinking.

And that’s the real problem.

Once language is cheap and copyable, people stop thinking for themselves... and start repeating the kind of conversation that already “works”.

This is what Martin Heidegger meant: we think we control language, but language controls us... and that’s what AI is accelerating.

If you want to play that game, fine.

You’ll get likes. Engagement. And a slow death by AI slop.

But if you want to create real economic value in the next era, you have to stop following the language that already “works”.

You have to stop letting old language do your thinking for you.

That’s the choice.

Copy-paste works when you’re selling ideas. It breaks when you’re selling a whole new world.

The people who will win aren’t just “more articulate”.

They’re those who can reframe the conversations around them. Reframe what the conversation is even about.

That’s why it’s not just language.

It’s a new way of thinking together through new language.

New language for experiences the current thinking can’t capture. New conceptual spaces that people can step into. New words for what’s felt but unsaid.

And if you feel like your best thinking doesn’t fit the usual everyday conversations, good!

That’s not a clarity problem.

That’s your NO COPY-PASTE EDGE TRYING TO EMERGE.

The only question is: Will you turn it into a new world... or let it get flattened by language that already “works”?

The Fish Doesn’t Know It’s Wet

Here’s what most people still don’t get in the AI era…

They think the game is still: be clearer. Sound smarter. Repurpose it better.

But the real game is creating NEW PARADIGMS.

Because when you can name what people already feel but can’t say, you’re not just doing “thought leadership”. You’re creating a rupture. You change what becomes possible for them.

And when you change what becomes possible… you change what people will pay for.

That’s your leverage.

RIGHT THERE.

Not more polish. Not more “thought leadership”. Not more “how to” posts.

The other day, a client of mine sent me this quote that nails this point:

“The task is not so much to see what no one has yet seen; but to think what nobody has yet thought… about that which everybody sees.”
—Arthur Schopenhauer

You’ll often see it attributed to Erwin Schrödinger. Sometimes even to someone else.

But it goes back to Schopenhauer in Parerga and Paralipomena.

And what he’s pointing to is a simple yet radical idea:

The world is already fully visible. The gap is in the thinking.

So when we talk about “innovation”, it is not so much about discovering something new as people may think. It’s about thinking something new about what everyone takes for granted.

Read that again.

Because the very concept of ‘innovation’ is the very example of that. Can you see it?

Let’s take another example.

Let’s take gravity.

It was always there. Everyone had always seen things fall. Every single day. A thousand times a day. For thousands of years.

It was like… “is just how things are and will always be”.

But when Newton saw the apple and the Moon at the same time, he thought something nobody had thought about what everybody was already seeing.

THAT’S what Schopenhauer is pointing to.

Not to what “thought leadership” wants us to believe. Not about gaining special access to information only accessible through “experts”.

It’s about the PARADIGM by which knowledge is being presented.

Like the fish and water.

The fish doesn’t “see” water. Doesn’t “think about” water. Doesn’t even “notice” water. It just... lives in it.

And we’re all like fish.

We’re all living inside a Paradigm.

In fact, you’re not living inside a Paradigm. You BECOME the paradigm you live in.

So yeah... Schopenhauer is right. The gap isn’t so much in what you know. The gap is in the framing of how you know.

But here’s what I think is still missing.

Schopenhauer still puts the whole thing in the brain.

“Think what nobody has yet thought.”

As if originality is just a pure, clever mental act.

Like a lone wolf. Like you sit down, concentrate harder than everyone else, and boom… NEW PARADIGM.

But I don’t think that’s how it actually happens.

Because the thing that becomes a new paradigm usually doesn’t start as a THOUGHT.

It starts as an INTRUSION before thought. Something pre-verbal. Something you can’t explain yet.

A crack in your lived experience.

A FELT SENSE.

Not a feeling. Not an emotion. Not “intuition.”

More like… a fragment. A weird certainty. A thing you can’t justify at a meeting. Couldn’t put on a slide. Couldn’t explain when someone asked, “...but what’s the use of that?”

The thing you learned to keep it to yourself.

So here’s the real version of Schopenhauer’s quote:

“The task is not so much to think what nobody has yet thought about what everybody sees... but to follow what nobody has yet followed about what everybody already has a FELT SENSE.”

That’s where new paradigms are born.

Not in the clever thought. But in the crack that comes before it.

That’s your Nameless Knowing.

“But Nuno, this might be true… but this is for exceptional people, philosophical weirdos, or Steve Jobs geniuses... NOT FOR ME!”

Heidegger. Schopenhauer. Newton

I get it. These ARE big names.

And it’s easy to feel like this belongs in some rarefied world that has nothing to do with your own world.

But what I actually see when I work with real people is much less DRAMATIC.

They already have something real in their work. Most of them just don’t know it yet. Or more accurately… they don’t trust it yet.

Because they can’t put it into everyday language without killing it.

Something is there. You can feel it. You keep returning to it. But you can’t yet make it make sense in the old paradigm.

Another client told me that reframing the language clarified what she was already building… and started changing the conversations around her.

New conversations. New openings. New possibilities.

“I wanted to send a quick thank you. The “Rare Dots” framing has been incredibly helpful. (...) I just committed to contributing a chapter to an upcoming book.”

She added.

That’s the part I want you to notice.

Not genius. Not magic.

A shift in language that changed what became possible.

So the real problem is not: you don’t have it.

The real problem is: you’ve been trained by “thought leaders” to distrust anything you can’t explain in their language.

In their paradigm. In their words.

In the old vocabulary of what already “works”.

And that training is exactly what kills what’s genuinely inside you.

Your Nameless Knowing.

That’s finance.

Fix problems. Control exposure. Minimise downside. Predict all possible doom scenarios.

And it pays off. Until it doesn’t...

Because honestly? Living like that is excruciating. Because it doesn’t stay at work.

The logic leaks into your life.

Your relationships. Your choices. The way you wake up in the morning. Already thinking about all that can go wrong.

You stop living toward something.

You start living away from everything that’s painful.

I was living in survival mode, experiencing uncertainty only as a permanent crisis.

I didn’t notice it happening. That’s the thing about a paradigm... You don’t see it. You ARE it.

Then one day, I saw a book title that stopped me:

The Upside of Uncertainty.

I laughed. I remember thinking, “Upside? Since when?”

But it got my curiosity.

And the question kept coming: What if I’ve been living Uncertainty as only a crisis… because that’s the ONLY logic I was told?

Twenty Years of Expertise Built on One WRONG Assumption

The more I thought of it, the more I realised what had been missing in my “expertise”.

And what I found was a whole world running in parallel to everything I’d been told.

There were thinkers—economists, philosophers, you name it—who had spent careers treating uncertainty not as risk but as virtue. The only place where genuinely new things can begin.

Shackle. Keats. Later, others.

I hadn’t encountered any of this in 20 years of finance.

What they were all pointing to was disturbing. And at the same time, liberating:

What most of us call “uncertainty” isn’t uncertainty at all. It’s risk.

Risk is when the game is known, the variables are knowable, and the downside can be modelled. This is what sits in spreadsheets, math formulas and monitor screens.

But Uncertainty is when the game itself is unknown—when you don’t know what you don’t know.

And that’s a fertile field. More than what you initially can think of.

The Blue Ocean Is NOWHERE NEAR Where They Said

So when I left finance, I expected to leave that logic behind.

New world. New rules. Open possibilities. Creativity. Finally.

But as I started being part of entrepreneurship communities, courses and conferences, I saw it clearly:

Entrepreneurship had its own version of the same trap.

They just hid it better.

Behind “proven frameworks”. Behind “niche down”. Behind the urgency to market everything before it has a chance to become anything.

Different vocabulary. Same operating system.

Most entrepreneurship is “risk work” dressed up as innovation.

They say “niche down to find your blue ocean”. But what they are really saying is to avoid the only place where a true blue ocean can exist—what you don’t know you don’t know.

That’s uncertainty. Not risk

In Risk-land, you optimise solutions to known problems.

In Uncertainty-land, you cultivate ideas that reveal possibilities the world hasn’t learned to name yet.

The place where the blue ocean isn’t filled with sharks yet.

Where the niche is still forming, not funnelled down. Where you don’t even know what would count as “useful”, because usefulness belongs to the old paradigm.

And that place, the Uncertainty-land, is where most people panic.

Because the moment you admit you don’t know what you don’t know, you lose all social currencies: profitability, explainability, and the ability to pitch in one sentence.

So what do the “Blue Ocean Experts” usually do to “help you”?

They downgrade uncertainty into risk as fast as they can.

They call it “strategy”.
They call it “branding”.
They call it “positioning”.

And what comes out the other side is always the same. A solution to a known problem.

Never a possibility the world hadn’t thought to want yet.

And no... what I’m proposing is NOT about “solutions in search of problems.”

It’s more foundational: it’s “opportunity in search of legitimacy.“

Taleb Mapped ONLY Half the Territory

That’s where Black Swans come into play.

You may have heard of them.

Rare. High-impact.

The catastrophic event that breaks every model. Every map. Every framework.

That’s uncertainty. But seen from one side only.

The risk side.

But does uncertainty only produce catastrophic surprises? What if it also produces CREATIVE INTRUSIONS?

Taleb mapped what uncertainty can destroy.

Nobody mapped what it can create.

When you flip the lens, the Black Swan stops being only a fear field... and becomes a fertility field.

And in that fertility field, the equivalents of Black Swans aren’t tragedies.

They’re intrusions. They’re Rare Dots.

Those inner pulls, hard to explain, hard to forget.

They’re not meant to fit the current models because they’re meant to expand them. Expand the map. Expand the frameworks.

And once you start thinking through this lens, your attention changes. So do your questions.

What if entrepreneurship isn’t about identifying pain points (the risk perspective)... but having a better relationship with uncertainty to be attuned to those creative intrusions?

Yet, some might rather be asking:

“But Nuno... look around. With so many crises, how can anyone have headspace for this?

Shouldn’t we be WORRIED about the problems in the world instead?”

Let’s be honest about what “being worried” actually is.

Worry is not a virtue. It’s a tax on your attention. And attention is a resource.

Crisis doesn’t demand you surrender your attention—it demands you protect it.

And here’s the harsh part:

“Being worried about the world” is turning into a reason for powerless people to feel relevant.

It’s a socially acceptable addiction.

It’s doom-scrolling dressed up as compassion.

And it has a predictable outcome: you feel morally superior, yet nothing changes—except your nervous system. And of those around you.

And the world doesn’t get better because more people are emotionally kneeling to the news cycle. It gets better when someone builds something that changes what’s possible.

And that’s creative uncertainty.

So when people ask: “Shouldn’t we be worried?”

No.

You should be dangerous.

That’s the whole reason most people never create anything truly their own.

Imitation comes with witnesses. It comes with safety. Someone else has already walked the path, named the steps, proved the outcome, and built the map.

If it fails, you can blame the method. If it works, you can credit the map. You’re never fully exposed.

Origination is different.

Origination means you don’t get a “proven path”. You don’t get a framework to tuck yourself into. You stand alone long enough to find out whether what you’re sensing is real—before anyone else can confirm it.

And this is why “self-discovery” became a modern addiction.

I know because I spent years doing it.

Personality tests. Find your strengths. Leadership models. Ikigai. Human Design. You name it.

I got value from them (some)—good insights, more clarity.

But eventually I noticed something weird.

Every time I felt a “self-revelation”... it was because I’d located myself inside somebody else’s framework.

Somebody else decided the journey. Somebody else named the levels. Somebody else built the logic.

I wasn’t discovering who I was.

I was discovering who I was... INSIDE THEIR MAP.

And maps only show you what someone else has already walked.

They’re amazing for self-validation. Terrible for origination.

Your most valuable knowing doesn’t come from “who you are.” It comes from what only you have lived.

Not the biography version. Not your CV. The lived one.

The sequence of moments that trained your curiosity in places most people never looked at.

Because the real work isn’t about “finding yourself” within another personality trait. Another level in a self-actualisation model.

Or some corner of an Ikigai diagram.

It’s a glimpse.

The weird idea that won’t leave. The contradiction you can’t resolve. The moment of inner truth that you still have no words for.

These aren’t mere curiosities. These are 2 AM INTRUSIONS.

And no one has lived these intrusions as you did.

They don’t fit existing maps. Frameworks. Models. Personality tests.

And that’s the point.

Because they’re not asking you to be “understood” with what’s already there.

They’re POINTING to something that doesn’t exist (yet).

That’s not self-discovery. That’s origination.

And once I understood that, everything changed…

“But Nuno... there isn’t anything genuinely original coming through me. I’m not that kind of person”

I hear you.

But you’re using the wrong yardstick.

Because you’ve been trained to think “original” shows up as a lightbulb insight during a shower with total clarity, clean language and a queue of people ready to clap.

So when you actually have this messy, contradictory, no clear language, half-truths—you treat it like noise and move on.

You think it’s nothing.

Because it doesn’t come with a framework. A witness.

But what we’re talking about here is what comes before any insight. The thing before the insight.

The pre-insight.

And that first form of “original” is usually an intrusion.

A thought that won’t fit the accepted framing. A weird idea you keep deleting. A contradiction you can’t resolve without losing something you believe is true.

Most people have these.

They just treat them like mental spam.

“Random.” “Too weird.” “Not useful.” “I’m overthinking.”

So they clean it up.

They average it out. They copy a framework that already has witnesses.

Then they conclude: “See? I’m not original.”

So here’s the choice…

Keep consuming frameworks, or stop pretending you don’t have anything unique in you.

Because you do.

The problem is, when you’re surrounded by “proven frameworks”, you’ve probably gotten good at one thing: explaining those intrusions away.

That’s what this week’s conversational prompt is about.

Not a template. Not a model.

A dialogue that helps you extract deeper levels of your weird ideas, your intrusions—without watering them down into another personality test, leadership model, or Ikigai diagram.

You know what most people do when something new shows up?

They don’t sit with it.

They FRAME it.

Something happens in their life that doesn’t fit their everyday narratives—a win, a failure, a strange pull, an experience they can’t explain—and immediately they try to interpret it using whatever mental frame they have.

Philosophical frame. Psychological frame. Logical frame. Identity frame.

Whatever. Doesn’t matter.

If it fits, they feel better.
They can move on.

If it doesn’t fit, they do what most people are trained to do:
THEY GO SHOPPING

A book. A podcast. A program. They seek a new frame so the ‘weird thing’ finally ‘makes sense.’

We all do it. I do it all the time. It fulfils us.

But after some point, it gets dangerous.

Because the goal soon becomes: “How can I explain this (using what’s already known)?”

Not: “What is this REALLY trying to say?”

You become a collector of frames. And every new frame becomes a FILTER.

The more frames you collect, the faster you can filter anything unfamiliar into what’s already known.

And so, the less likely you are to notice the one thing that is a SEED OF NEW KNOWING.

That’s what I call a Rare Dot.

A fragment that no existing frames can digest.

That’s why if your reflex is to immediately seek a frame to fit that seed, you won’t discover anything new.

YOU JUST BECOME A BETTER EXPLAINER

In truth, that happens because most people can’t tolerate ‘not knowing’.

We’ve been trained to mistake not knowing for ignorance. So you panic. You rush to conclusions. Even cheap ones.

That’s the same reason why most people misunderstand creativity. They think creativity is coming up with ideas.

It’s not.

Creativity is the ability to sit with the ‘not knowing’ without rushing to cheap conclusions.

You’re not short on ideas. You’re over-equipped with “explanations”. And Rare Dots are what your “explanations” can’t process.

A Rare Dot is a glimpse of an unfamiliar reality.

A weird idea that doesn’t fit but resonates deeply. A radical outlier in your life experience that doesn’t make sense.

But because it doesn’t fit... we treat it like something to fix, not something to follow.

So we seek frames. And each frame adds a new layer.

But layers don’t just explain. They also cover.

Let me show you what I mean:

This picture is your day-to-day life. Your normal way of making sense of things. Your current logic.

But then, every now and then, something shows up that doesn’t fit:

• A sentence you cannot forget

• A concept that breaks your assumptions

• A culture that shifts your sense of normal life

• A moment of truth that creates a sense of liveness

• A weird idea that makes no sense but resonates deeply

Those cracks are your Rare Dots. Ruptures. Intrusions.

They don’t fit your current logic because they’re pointing to a DIFFERENT LOGIC.

Now watch what people usually do. They don’t sit with the crack. They try to get rid of it.

They go looking for a frame. And every frame adds a layer.

That’s the Chinese finger trap.

At first, it feels like the logical move. But the logical move is what gets you trapped.

The more frames you collect, the more trapped you get.

You either force it to fit something you already know. Or you ignore it.

That’s why nothing genuinely new is created.

Keep adding layers. Or hold it until something truly yours emerges.

He’s not wrong. And it’s actually costing me business.

But here’s the thing.

I call these Rare Dots.

Not just intuition. These are ruptures. New truths.

New paradigms that make something possible that wasn’t possible before.

The problem isn’t that you’re bad at creating a business. The problem is you’re trying to force paradigm-level thinking into problem-solution boxes.

Think what Niels Bohr said:

Most entrepreneurs follow the problem-solution paradigm because it’s true.

But there’s another equally great truth: You can start with a solution — your inner truth — and understand what possibilities it creates.

This isn’t about solving existing problems. It’s about transformation.

As Jung said:

Jung understood something about transformative innovation that modern business completely ignores…

How Does This Work In Practice?

Take persuasion. Marketing is built on it.

But this is what I discover through my own Rare Dots:

In the context of life transformation, persuasion becomes counterproductive.

You cannot persuade someone into a life-changing decision.

Even if you could, they’d resent it. Because transformation has to come from them.

This revelation opened up a completely different way of operating.

Instead of persuasion, you create what Cialdini calls “pre-suasion” — opening loops of possibility, not closing them.

The teacher arrives only when the student is ready.

This isn’t just philosophy. It’s a different business model. Different interactions.

Different everything.

What Is That I’m Actually Doing?

I help people who have Rare Dots — those unformed intrusions that don’t fit templates — turn them into new truths. New paradigms. New coordinates outside the existing map.

Not scaling solutions to fit problems. Creating new possibilities that weren’t possible before.

Because the exhaustion you feel isn’t weakness.

It’s your mind rejecting ‘proven practices’ that can’t handle what you’re actually trying to create.

You’re not failing at the method. The method is failing you.

That’s actually your advantage.

But most people with paradigm-level thinking hit the same wall:

They are strangely managed.

Their day runs on tiny corrections.

Adjust this. Fix that. Try again tomorrow.

Somewhere along the way, we’ve stopped asking big questions. They got postponed by something more urgent, more practical, more actionable.

And yet, nothing feels like forced control. That’s the strange part.

By the end of this article, you’ll see why that didn’t happen accidentally — and how it quietly decided what kind of “Self” you’re allowed to be.

Not psychologically. Structurally.

From Infinite Becoming to Atomic Selves

In the last article (Infinite Becoming), we saw how the 1970s Human Potential Movement was hijacked back into 1-to-1 economics.

“Be your best self” turned from liberation into a consumption machine.

If you can be anything you want to be, then there’s no end to becoming.

And no end to buying things that help you become.

But it gets worse.

Now the engine no longer needs you to aspire to a Better Self. It operates on little, fragmented pieces of your Self.

The old engine sold you becoming. The new engine sells you loops.

Repeatable. Closeable. Atomic loops.

A New Psychology That Didn’t Need the Self

While Freud’s psychology was rising in the early 20th century — driving how we see our Self and how we buy products — something else was happening.

In 1913, John B. Watson published The Behaviourist Manifesto.

A new science that bypassed the subconscious altogether.

Psychology, he argued, should concern itself only with what can be observed.

Behavior. Response. Measurable change.

Introspection isn’t banned—it’s made irrelevant.

His position was brutally clear:

If you can’t observe it, you can’t use it. And if you can’t use it, it doesn’t belong in science.

Watson’s ideas didn’t stay in academia. He went into advertising.

He realised that if you can condition responses in a lab, you can condition purchasing in the market.

Impulses, cues, and associations. No need for subconscious depth.

Just triggers and outcomes.

Designing Behaviour at Mass Scale

B. F. Skinner takes this further.

Where Watson says “ignore the inner world,” Skinner says something darker: the inner world is an obstacle.

For Skinner, notions like freedom and inner agency are misleading. What matters is reinforcement.

His work on operant conditioning terrifies philosophers and delights institutions: you can generate a stable behaviour without understanding the individual.

Skinner isn’t shy about the implications. In Beyond Freedom and Dignity, he explicitly argues that societies should be designed this way.

Not persuaded. Designed.

Direct Marketing

This logic didn’t immediately take over marketing.

For most of the mid-20th century, Freud’s psychoanalysis dominated. Brands spoke to subconscious desires. Ads sold aspirational stories.

But then came Lester Wunderman.

He didn’t care about symbolic desire. He cared about response. Reinforced response.

Who answered. Who didn’t. What offer pulled. What headline worked.

In 1967, in a talk at MIT, Wunderman formally defined Direct Marketing.

His innovations — the magazine subscription card, the toll-free 1-800 number, the loyalty rewards program — weren’t just hacks.

They were conditioning mechanisms dressed as customer service.

Each loyalty program trained a behaviour. Each 1-800 reinforced a loop. The customer didn’t just respond—they were conditioned to respond.

That’s Skinner translated into 1-2-1 economics.

Impulsive Buying

Once behaviour became the unit of success, marketing stopped optimising for judgment. It started optimising for reaction.

Now, a Self with depth becomes a problem.

Depth slows decisions. Reflection interrupts loops. Meaning introduces friction.

By contrast, an impulsive Self is a legible Self.

It produces clean signals. It closes loops quickly. It doesn’t require explanation.

Impulse is not a flaw in the system. It’s the ideal state.

And so the Self adapts.

You start experiencing your Self as a bundle of spontaneous urges, micro goals, and tiny habits.

Instead of asking “Who am I becoming?” you get a Self that asks “What should I do next?”

And that has a considerable impact on the product quality

Once success is defined as “did they buy,” the product no longer has to justify itself over time. It only has to survive the moment of decision.

This creates a selection pressure:

• Products that are durable, subtle, or require learning lose — they slow the decision down.

• Products that promise quick transformation win — they close the loop faster.

Quality is slow. Impulse is immediate.

Who Gets to Close The Loop?

By the time digital platforms arrive, this worldview is already waiting.

The internet didn’t invent it. It operationalised it at scale.

Clicks. Scrolls. Micro-loops.

These are just Skinnerian variables with electricity running through your nerves.

When you begin acting on weak, pre-verbal signals — curiosity spikes, uncertainty arrives, and exploratory behaviour is now wide open.

What could be a source of creativity is quickly turned into consumption.

But no. Feedback loops get activated before meaning forms.

This doesn’t suppress your Expressive Self. It intercepts it mid-formation.

Then, decades later, Atomic Habits turns it inward and says:

“Now do this to yourself”

The same logic doesn’t stop with platforms or products. It continues through you.

Every time you write, teach, or sell, you’re participating in the same loop logic described above.

Most communication today is built to close loops fast: Explain, instruct, resolve, trigger action.

Their meaning never has time to form.

That works in the short term. It also creates a hidden cost.

When you close loops for people, you train compliance, not ownership.

Clients buy impulsively, expect instant payoff, and complain when the result doesn’t integrate. Products get cheaper. Relationships get noisier.

You become the bottleneck of your own influence.

There’s a different game available.

Instead of designing messages that deliver conclusions, you design messages that return authorship.

You leave the loop open just enough — so the reader closes it themselves. In their own language. Through their own reasoning.

When people close the loop themselves, everything shifts.

The insight sticks because it’s theirs. The relationship deepens because you trusted them to think. What you’re selling becomes Quality. Not quick relief.

But first, you need to see why we got here in the first place.

When Fitting In Was The Only Option

American society used to be ruled by Freud’s paradigm.

The unconscious was dangerous. Society must repress it. That was what kept civilization stable.

For decades, this shaped how we understood ourselves. And it shaped how products were sold to us — as safe, predictable expressions of conformity.

Through his nephew Bernays in marketing. Through his daughter Anna in therapy.

You bought what society said was acceptable. You fit in.

The self was something to be controlled, not freely expressed.

Then in August 1962, Marilyn Monroe killed herself.

She had been under the care of a psychoanalyst who followed Anna Freud’s approach by the book. Her death made people start questioning the entire paradigm.

One of those voices was Herbert Marcuse.

He had studied psychoanalysis. And he believed the complete opposite of Freud’s paradigm.

The unconscious forces inside the human mind were good, he argued. It was society that made people dangerous—by repressing people.

By not permitting people to express their emotions.

By making the Expressive Self become the Repressive Self.

His ideas spread through American campuses. Students turned them into a movement.

To activism.

The idea was to fight the system. So the system won’t get into our heads.

But the system fought back harder. And eventually, the movement lost.

Yet, the idea didn’t die.

It got transformed.

Protecting Your Mind

If it was impossible to get the policeman out of one’s head by defeating the system, then find a way of getting inside one’s own mind—and remove the controls implanted there by the system.

Change yourself. Out of this would come a new Self.

From enough new Selves, a new System would emerge.

No activism was needed.

That was the start of the Human Potential Movement.

Fritz Perls, a psychoanalyst in California, began developing techniques to do exactly this.

Taking ownership of who you are. How you act. How you feel. Your whole being in the world.

In other words: giving you autonomy. Owning your freedom.

And that started having an impact on Corporate America more than any activism ever did before.

These new selves were not behaving as predictable consumers.

An entrepreneur named Werner Erhard made the situation even worse.

From Nothing, Everything

To Erhard, the Human Potential Movement hadn’t gone far enough.

Their idea—that there was a true self waiting underneath all the conditioning—was just another limitation.

In reality, there was no fixed self.

The real point was to go down through layer after layer until you got to the last layer and peeled it off.

Where all there is is meaningless and empty.

That’s existentialism’s endpoint.

But for Erhard, in that existentialism’s endpoint, there was an enormous freedom.

All the constrictions, all the rules you’ve placed on yourself are gone.

Nothing is an extraordinarily powerful place to stand.

Because it is only from nothing that you can create. And become anything you want to become.

Erhard had figured out how to mass-produce the liberated self.

That made Corporate America’s problem even bigger.

Now it wasn’t just a few yippies refusing to conform. It was hundreds of thousands of people—all wanting to express their individuality.

Marketing the Non-Conformist

Corporate America asked Daniel Yankelovich to investigate.

He had studied psychoanalysis himself.

And what he told the corporations surprised them.

These new ‘yippies’ were still consumers.

They just no longer wanted products that would place them within old market categories. They weren’t trying to fit in anymore.

Marketing had to conform to the non-conformists.

Yankelovich developed the concept of segmenting test markets by lifestyle rather than by demographics alone.

Psychographics was born.

And here’s where Werner Erhard’s Liberation Movement got captured back again into marketing without realising it.

If there’s no fixed self—if you can be anything you want to be—then there’s no end to becoming.

And no end to buying things that help you become.

The Trap Inside The Liberation

That’s the logic running underneath the “be your best self” economy.

The engine doesn’t need you to become. It needs you to keep consuming to become.

Erhard called it liberation. Marketing called it opportunity.

You’ve felt it too:

• The books on authenticity? Built on Erhard’s logic.

• The courses on self-discovery? Yankelovich’s segmentation in disguise.

• The retreats promising transformation? More consumption, dressed as becoming.

That’s not a flaw in you. That’s the system working perfectly.

It needs you incomplete. It needs you hungry. It needs you believing the next version is the real one.

I’m not here to sell people a better self.

I’m pointing people back to something pre-self.

Because that is exactly what the whole system was designed to prevent.

Today’s prompt doesn’t help you become anything.

It names what you’re still standing on, then it lets that drop.

When Marilyn Monroe killed herself in August 1962, it didn’t just shock the world.

It marked the beginning of the end of psychoanalysis in America.

This is a story of how Bernays, Freud’s nephew, reshaped how products and services were sold—moving from needs to desires—by taking his uncle’s ideas about the subconscious mind and weaponising them for marketing.

And how later, Anna Freud, Freud’s daughter, turned psychoanalysis into the dominant practice in American psychology.

More than a practice, there was a paradigm running beneath all of it.

The belief that people are inherently irrational. And that such irrationality was a great threat to the stability of society.

Back then, psychoanalysis wasn’t about liberating the individual.

It was about making the individual conform to a stable society. By repressing those dark subconscious forces.

• Bernays did it through marketing—fitting selves to assembly lines.

• Anna did it through therapy—fitting selves to social norms.

(Anna herself was constantly analysed by her own father due to her desires for masturbation)

To clarify:

This is not an attack on psychology.

It’s an awareness of the paradigm that dominated it.

The Cure That Killed

Psychoanalysis was gaining power among high-profile people across America.

That included Hollywood.

Film producers. Studio bosses. Actors.

All flooding the offices of psychoanalysts in Los Angeles.

One of the most sought-after was Ralph Greenson, a close friend of Anna Freud.

And Marilyn Monroe was his client.

Famous. Young. And drowning in self-despair.

She felt unloved. That despair led her to alcohol and drugs.

And so, Greenson started to apply psychoanalysis to her under the dominant paradigm at the time: that her impulses should be repressed.

And repression works best when you subconsciously conform to what a ‘good family’ looks like.

So he did.

He persuaded Monroe to move into a house nearby to his. A house decorated like his. Then he brought her into his own family life.

He wanted Marilyn Monroe to see how a ‘good family’ ought to be.

But what Greenson was really doing was following Anna Freud’s theory by the book.

If Marilyn Monroe could be taught to conform to what society considered a normal life, her ego would learn to control her inner destructive desires.

Greenson himself would become Monroe’s model of conformity.

But trying to repress the very essence of Monroe’s Expressive Self was never going to be the solution.

Her Expressive Self is what gave her life in the first place.

And so, on 4th August 1962, she killed herself.

The Paradigm Cracks

Marilyn Monroe's suicide created a great shock around the world.

But nowhere more than within the psychoanalytic community, including in Anna Freud herself.

High-profile figures started to question the true power of psychoanalysis.

Did it really benefit individuals? Or was it a form of conformity in the interest of social order?

Others come forward.

The shockwave wasn’t only within the psychoanalysis community.

It spread into the very origins that made psychoanalysis gain its power:

Marketing.

In “The Hidden Persuaders”, Vance Packard accused psychoanalysts of reducing people to emotional puppets, whose only function was to keep the assembly lines running.

Then comes Herbert Marcuse.

He delivered the final blow.

In his book “The One-Dimensional Man”, he showed how psychoanalysis was leading people to live a life of conformity.

But Marcuse didn’t merely attack psychoanalysis directly. He attacked the paradigm running behind it.

Trained in psychoanalysis himself, Marcuse was a fierce opponent of Freud’s core belief—that the irrational subconscious needs to be repressed.

To him, psychoanalysis was used in a childish way.

Coming from a linear perspective that Freud had about the irrational subconscious.

It wasn’t that psychoanalysis was being applied in a corrupted way. It was more fundamental. It was the paradigm running beneath it. That people are inherently dangerous.

What Marcuse did was to create a new paradigm:

It was society—not the individual—that was the source of danger.

By forcing the individual to adapt and conform to everything society deemed ‘good and acceptable,’ psychoanalysis was repressing the individual.

The Expressive Self became the Repressive Self.

And what Anna Freud and her followers did was to increase the Repressive Self.

That is what made people more dangerous.

Because repression leads to emptiness. Emptiness leads to despair. And despair eventually erupts into something.

That’s the real lesson here.

And it doesn’t apply to psychoanalysis only.

It applies everywhere.

Whenever you feel pressure to conform—

• to do things in the way they always have been done

• to follow what’s considered acceptable

• to fit in

The problem might not be you.

The problem might be the paradigm running the very system you’re in.

Most people never see it.

So they keep adapting.

Keep conforming.

And keep killing their Expressive Self.

The shift starts when you can name that.

Name the paradigm. Invert its assumptions. See what becomes possible.

You sold products the way you sell tools.

You explained what they do.
You listed what they had.
You showed what they solved.

The assumption underneath all of this was obvious: people are rational.

And rational people only buy what they need.

Bernays didn’t see it that way. Bernays’ uncle was Sigmund Freud.

And through his uncle, Bernays understood people weren’t driven by reason.

They were driven by the subconscious.

Impulses. Desires. Fears.

At the time, these ideas were still confined to a small intellectual circle in Vienna.

Freud himself thought these forces were dangerous. Something that needed to be handled carefully.

Yet, Barney had a different opinion.

He took his uncle’s ideas out of therapy and put them directly into marketing.

The beginning of making people buy things they don’t actually need.

Buying Who You Want to Be

When Freud realised what Bernays was doing, he was furious.

Psychoanalysis wasn’t meant to sell stuff.

It was meant to reduce suffering.

But Bernays pushed on.

His first marketing hack was simple: you don’t sell products.

You attached an identity to a product. And then you sell the identity as an aspiration.

When Bernays launched his “Torches of Freedom” campaign in 1929, it wasn’t about selling cigarettes.

It was about selling independence.

Smoking became a social defiant ritual by women who wanted to be freer.

Liberated. Empowered.

From that point on, the product barely mattered. The identity attached to the product did.

A car wasn’t transport.
→ It was status.

A cigarette wasn’t tobacco.
→ It was independence.

A household product wasn’t convenience.
→ It was competence.

You weren’t buying things to become someone. You were becoming someone by buying things.

The Shelf of Selves

I remember the first time I really heard this explained.

At first, I thought, okay, clever trick.

Bernays was smart.

Then I start to see it…

A lot of what we buy isn’t even about us at all.

It’s about buying an identity that we want to be seen by others.

Once you see that, you start noticing it everywhere.

Much of what we call “self-expression” is actually just… choosing from what’s already on the shelf.

Not creating. Just selecting.

How deep is this reprogramming going on?

Soon, I'll give you a way to check where this might be showing up in yourself.

Because once Barney’s understood the power of this trick, he applied it everywhere.

In fact, this new logic wasn’t only useful for selling things people didn’t need.

It was also useful for understanding why people refused to buy things that would help them as well.

An example was when instant cake mixes were first introduced, with the intention to help people.

It worked. It saved time.
It made life easier.

Yet, instant cake mixes weren’t selling.

The reason wasn’t that they weren’t tasty. But because they felt wrong.

The message hidden behind the product was: you didn’t really bake this.

And that threatened something deeper than logical utility.

It threatened housewives’ sense of care. Effort.
Competency.

So Bernays made one small change.

Add an egg to the recipe.

Nothing functional changed.
But psychologically, everything did.

Adding the egg restored authorship.
The feeling that you had done something.

One egg.

That may have been one of the first simpler growth hacks in history.

That’s when marketing crossed a line it never came back from.

At the same time, something else was happening.

Most products were still being sold on the basis of need.

But mass production had changed the equation.

Assembly lines—especially after Ford—were producing more than people would need to buy.

And that created a problem: What happens when people already have enough?

One banker at Lehman Brothers saw it clearly. If the system was going to survive, people couldn’t be allowed to stop at “enough.”

They had to be trained to want more.

The Science of “Engineered Desires”

To implement the shift, marketing studies had to change.

People weren’t asked whether a product worked.

They were asked how it felt.

What it reminded them of.
What it said about them.
What it symbolised.

Focus groups were put together to ask consumers about their relationship with a product.

Freud’s psychoanalysis turned into product psychoanalysis.

A lighter was not simply a lighter.
It was a tool of power.

The ability to light fire instantly.
Control. Mastery.

Something primal that reached all the way back to the cave.

Desire became the engine.
Desire—not need, not logic—desire.

People were no longer just buying what they needed. They were buying how they wanted to be perceived.

At first, this felt like freedom.

More choice.
More differentiation.
More ways to express yourself.

But there was a constraint built into the system.

Factories couldn’t create infinite product variation.
They create standardised objects at scale.

Freedom yes.
But from within a narrow menu.

Society needed stability. Stability needed predictability. And predictability needed a passive consumer.

Engineered desires within a socially agreed consensus of what a “good life” looked like.

A good car.
A good home.
A good pair of shoes.

Slowly, consumption took on a second function.

Not to express your identity. But to fit in.

Because when millions of people orient their desires toward the same socially agreed version of a “good life,” society doesn’t need to be directed.
It stabilises itself.

Aspiration does the work.

When Self-Expression Becomes Personal Branding

Over time, this wasn’t just marketing. Or psychology.

It became existentialism.

Reprogramming how people identify with themselves.

Buying identities slowly became how people expressed themselves.

That worked. For a while.

Because if you’re a founder wanting to build something that actually feels like yours, this is where it gets tricky.

Once self-expression is trained through consumption, it sneaks into work too. It becomes a trap.

You start “expressing yourself” by choosing:

• the right positioning

• the right niche

• the right Personal Brand

Everything looks polished. Everything looks right.

And yet, something feels deeply off.

Next week, I’ll go into what happens when that breaks.

When expression stops being about fitting in, but about creating something that doesn’t have a name yet.

When your Expressive Self stops asking:
“How can my product fit the current market?”

And starts asking:
“What can only be created if it’s me bringing it into the world, and making money from it?”

That’s a very different way of creating market value. And it changes how founders create value as an act of self-expression.

That’s the insight.

The Genius Of Unformed Thinking

If you’ve ever seen Leonardo da Vinci’s notebooks, you already know what I’m talking about.

Pages filled with sketches. Diagrams mixed with words. Anatomy beside water flows.

Writing that runs backwards. Thoughts that stop at half-sentences.

No obvious order. No conclusions.

No attempt to tidy things up.

For centuries, people have loved da Vinci’s notebooks—and at the same time, silently judged them.

According to critics, da Vinci left too much work unfinished.

Too many projects abandoned. Too many ideas never fully realised.

A genius, yes. But an undisciplined person. Someone unable to bring things to an end.

That criticism sounds logical. But it’s wrong.

Da Vinci wasn’t writing to clarify ideas. He was using writing to stay in contact with emerging ideas that couldn’t fit existing words.

And he wasn’t alone on that.

Writing Before Thought Fits (Known) Words

This skill goes beyond da Vinci.

1/ Ludwig Wittgenstein‘s private notebooks aren’t polished arguments.

They’re records of language breaking down. Notes contradict each other. Thoughts ending half-sentence.

2/ Simone Weil didn’t write to conclude. She wrote to notice.

Fragments. Aphorisms. Questions left open.

3/ Franz Kafka‘s diaries weren’t just sketches for novels.

They were places where his old identities dissolved. And new ones emerged.

These thinkers weren’t failing to complete their work. They were protecting something. A space where thought can exist before language has clear words.

Where knowing is allowed to arrive before words. Where old identities are allowed to dissolve.

That’s what Pre-verbal Writing is all about.

And we’ve been trained to kill it.

The Day Writing Became Articulated Logic

Here’s what happened:

Writing stopped being a place where thinking could stay unfinished.

It became a place where thinking had to prove itself.

• Institutions needed legible output

• Expertise demands conclusions

• Business rewarded clarity

Slowly, Pre-verbal Writing got pushed downstream.

After certainty. After decision.

After the writer’s identity was already formed.

Pre-verbal notes became “drafts.” Things to clean up later.

Pre-verbal writing isn’t new.

It’s pre-institutional.
Pre-credential.
Pre-modern.

What’s new is how hard it has become to justify a space where thought is allowed to exist before clear language.

We’ve Been Here Before (Just Not With Language)

Here’s an analogy that helps:

For a long time, the Science of Chemistry was enough. People built entire industries on it.

Then it stopped being enough.

You could only work with what molecules would allow. Combine them. Refine them.

But you couldn’t design reality from the inside out.

Then came Atomic Physics.

It didn’t just explain chemistry. It bypassed its limits.

Once atoms became accessible, people could do things chemistry never allowed.

New materials. New energies. New forms of creation.

The world didn’t change just because scientists understood the world better. It changed because they could operate one level deeper.

We’re standing at a similar threshold now.

Not in Science. But in language. In thinking. And in how to create new knowing.

Yet, most people are still stuck at the chemistry level.

The Atoms of Knowledge

For decades, we’ve treated knowledge as if it begins with ‘clear thinking’.

Frameworks. Polished opinions. Finished language.

That’s been our version of Chemistry.

Useful. Productive. But blind to what’s underneath.

And what’s underneath are much smaller units:

Tensions.
Fragments.
Half-formed glimpses.

Contradictions you didn’t resolve.

Notes you almost deleted because they didn’t sound right yet. Weird ideas that resonate but make no sense.

Those fragments aren’t noise. They are sub-atomic particles.

The raw material from which new thinking is formed.

Before it looks like thinking at all.

I call them Rare Dots.

They’re the particles of knowledge creation. What thinking is made of before it looks like thinking.

And here’s why now it has become easier than ever to access them.

Why AI Changes Everything (And Why Most People Miss It)

Most people are trying to use AI at the level of Chemistry.

Prompts that polish their writing. Better articulation. Better clarity.

But what they get is faster recycled thinking.

That’s not where the opportunity is. That’s not where the real AI leverage is.

AI’s true power isn’t about articulating existing knowledge in a better way.

AI’s true power comes when you feed it your Pre-verbal material.

Fragments. Tensions.

The stuff you’d normally delete.

When you bring that pre-verbal writing, something happens:

AI doesn’t just help you articulate better. Or faster. It helps you see what’s trying to emerge from your Pre-verbal knowing.

I’d seen it. Lived it. Hit the numbers. Got the recognition.

And that’s the problem.

Because most people leave corporate to chase freedom. But they bring the same “success scorecard” with them.

They don’t know any different.

I couldn’t do that.

When I left corporate, I couldn’t follow the typical entrepreneurship path.

Corporate has its algorithm. Entrepreneurship has its own.

Different algorithms. Similar rat race. Same paradigm.

I was stuck BEFORE I even started.

I wasn’t chasing freedom or any of the usual promises. Those are fine. But wasn’t the thing.

What I really wanted was harder to name.

Something that was actually MINE.

Not within existing algorithms.

Outside ALL algorithms.

The First Rupture

E-Myth by Michael Gerber was one of the first ruptures in my algorithm.

His idea: Most small businesses fail because they’re started by technicians who are good at a craft—but clueless about building a business.

That was me.

Corporate technician. Good at the craft. That was my identity.

E-Myth said: “Work ON your business, not IN it.”

But the core message is bigger than business strategy.

It’s about cracking old identities that no longer serve you.

Think about:

Before we become one, we look at what entrepreneurs DO.

We copy the outside. But we’re seeing it through our old identity.

Building plans from old paradigms. Products from old perspectives. Websites from old logic.

And then you hit walls.

Those walls aren’t strategy problems. They’re identity problems.

The old you can’t cross. You need to become someone else.

E-Myth showed me that.

It wasn’t about learning. It’s about becoming.

Yet its strategic answers—systemise, franchise, remove yourself—was systems thinking.

And that wasn’t MY answer.

Still outside-in. Still mechanical.

E-Myth cracked on me the right thing.

But pointed somewhere I didn’t want to go.

That thing that I really wanted still had no name...

The ‘THING’ Had a Name

So I went deeper.

That’s when I found John Vervaeke’s work on the meaning crisis.

The loss of participatory knowing. The disconnection from wisdom traditions. Why modern life feels hollow even when it “works.”

Finally.

The thing that was my problem, but I couldn’t name it — had a name after all.

A sense of vindication. Like “Yeah... THAT’S what I’ve been feeling!”

But then... what?

You understand the problem. You join communities of others who feel it too. You nod together.

“Yes, we’ve lost participatory knowing.”

“Yes, modernity hollowed out meaning-making.”

And you stay there. A beautiful diagnosis.

But diagnosis isn’t a destination.

It’s just... accurate suffering.

Therapy meets philosophy.

Intrusions, Not Anomalies

As I continued my exploration, old ideas came back to me. All the way back to when I was 17.

I’d always been drawn to Thomas Kuhn’s work on paradigm shifts.

Not the academic version. The raw idea underneath.

That progress doesn’t happen smoothly. It ruptures.

The comet that killed the dinosaurs—and made mammals possible. The ice melting that carved the English coastline. The printing press. AI.

Rupture isn’t destruction. It’s how new worlds begin.

Kuhn saw the same pattern in science. Old paradigms don’t evolve smoothly into new ones. They collapse.

Anomalies pile up. The old logic can’t hold them anymore. And then—rupture. A new paradigm emerges.

But these ruptures weren’t just “out there”.

Something similar was happening in my own thinking.

Weird ideas that didn’t make much sense but resonate deeply. A felt sense of something I couldn’t fit. Fragments that I couldn’t name.

At first, I thought: these are outliers. Anomalies. Kuhn’s anomalies.

But that wasn’t quite it.

Kuhn’s anomalies are things you observe.

You’re the scientist. You notice data that doesn’t fit. But they are still outside you.

This was different. I wasn’t observing these anomalies.

They were happening TO me.

They weren’t anomalies. They were intrusions.

And that’s how the concept of Rare Dots started to unfold.

What Rare Dots Are All About

Rare Dots aren’t ‘intuitions’. Intuitions already have a pattern, albeit unconscious.

Rare Dots aren’t that. Rare Dots don’t fit any box you’re aware of.

Rare Dots aren’t ‘tacit knowledge’ either. Tacit knowledge is stuff you implicitly know but can’t explain how you do it.

Rare Dots are more like... intrusions.

Glimpses that don’t belong in your current logic but resonate deeply. A signal outside your current paradigm.

They arrive from the unique ways you’ve lived life.

The richer your life, the more likely you’ll have Rare Dots.

Not what you’ve learned. Not what you’ve become good at.

Something that’s trying to come through you. From a place somewhere outside existing algorithms. Outside all algorithms.

That’s why Kuhn’s work matters here. But not fully.

Kuhn talks about paradigms, like something that’s out there. Realities to be discovered.

You observe anomalies. Data that doesn’t fit. You’re the scientist. A mere observer.

But Rare Dots aren’t anomalies.

They are intrusions. They become part of you.

With Rare Dots, the observer IS the creator of the paradigm.

That’s the difference:

Anomalies are external to you. You follow anomalies from curiosity.

But intrusions are more than curiosities. Once they become part of you, you cannot NOT follow it.

Intrusions won’t leave. They disturb. And they keep intruding on you until you deal with them.

Intrusion is where Quantum Mechanics meets Carl Jung. Where Einstein’s Relativity meets Kierkegaard’s subjectivity.

You’re not discovering it. You’re not proving it.

You’re bringing it into existence.

The observer IS the creator.

The paradigm comes through you. Or it doesn’t come at all.

No one else received YOUR intrusions. No one else can follow YOUR thread.

That’s what Rare Dots are about.

They open cracks in you. They bring a QUEST to you.

That’s why the Quest isn’t a choice.

It’s an INEVITABILITY.

You can try to give up on your Quest (and you will try). But the Quest will never give up on you. It will keep intruding on you.

There is no choice for you. There’s no decision to be made here.

It’s like the choice you don’t have but to breathe O2. Or drink H2O.

Rare Dots are your O2. The Quest is your H2O.

And you don’t decide to exist. You exist. You follow your Rare Dots because you MUST.

That’s meaning-making.

That’s AGENCY.

Not therapy meets philosophy.

There’s only you. And your Rare Dots.

Everything else is either noise or irrelevant. Or scaffolding to create your paradigm.

That’s what Rare Dots gave to me.
